The word “privileged”
sometimes we don’t understand it properly. We all have our own ways or mindsets to define this word.
She or he is “so privileged”… but privileged in what way?
Some people measure it based on luxury. But in that case, people on the other side may see it differently, they may call someone privileged for having a rich mental health!
It actually depends.
Some are privileged to go to school; some are not.
Some are privileged to play football on a muddy ground on a rainy day.
Some can go to their dream destination.
Some can sleep in their mother’s lap.
Some consider eating at a restaurant a privilege, while others deeply crave homemade food.
Some want to do a world tour, while some cry just to spend one night in their old room.
Some can follow their passion but don’t get fame.
Some have money and fame, but their passion lies elsewhere.
Both are privileged in ways they may not even realize.
Everything, in its own way, is a privilege.
Living peacefully in this war-filled world and the fact that I am writing all this at night with free Wi-Fi isn’t that a privilege?
I think it is.
Even small things, like making two cups of coffee or receiving a message from your loved ones (not on social media, but in your phone’s inbox), are privileges in themselves.
We often count as “privileged” the things others have. But in one way or another, we all have something.
So, we are all very privileged in our own ways… aren’t we?
Let’s count everything we have in this life as a privilege.
