It’s been 25 years of yearning for love, watching people settle down in their lives and watching too many rom-coms. I romanticized a delusional version of life like theirs, but I never got the love I truly wanted.
I met too many people and picked too few, and even those few never gave me the feeling of a splash of water on my face on a hot summer day.
This world generalizes everything as love, but nothing seems to carry its real meaning. They have a common umbrella term called “love”…small chats, a quiet attraction, a one-day meeting, a habit, they calculate all of it as love. Yet I never found myself in this pointless version of it.
People are in relationships without being in love, and people who are truly in love are not in relationships. It’s a crazy world that has merely romanticized the word “love.”
Sometimes that word tickles the back of my mind, annoying me as I try to find its real meaning, while everywhere, everyone simply performs it rather than truly feeling what love is.
Maybe love in this world is not meant for me. I have never said “I love you” to someone when I didn’t truly mean it. The funny thing is, I even started writing a love story. There were many attempts, and yet I failed.
I have never felt loved in the way I truly wanted to be loved.
I have never felt the desire to surrender myself to someone. I have never found someone who would wipe all the blood from the wounds of my heart. No one has ever told me they would take away all the fear of love from this little heart.
No one has ever brought a wet breeze after the rain to my heart.
